I just posted this on the Studio Blog.......

I don't cross post (post same thing on more than one Blog) very often
but decided to share another image of Marlie

Again this image just like the prior two posted here a few weeks ago,
this image was created with one Main light located far to our left (her right)
and much closer to her than I normally would place my Main light.

While the Main was at f 5.6 and 1/60th of a second,
there was very little Fill (measured at f 2.8 at 1/20th of a second) about Three stops difference between the Main and the Fill

I share the shutter speeds here because this was done with a continuous light source Not flash.
Camera was Canon 5D with a 24 - 70mm lens set at 45 mm focal length

Light was a WestCott SpiderLite with 5 Halogen Bulbs

Here's the image............

Pricing Portrait & Wedding Photography, part 1

Pricing considerations for portrait and wedding photographers.

The task of pricing photography is greatly simplified when you understand the relationship between what it costs to do business and how much to charge in order to be profitable..

An excellent view point !

Holly Crap Batman (when you loose data on your laptop)

My Lap Top Hard drive recently decided it went from too cold to to warm and decided it had to be recovered with the OEM recover to original manufacture state

O.K. no big deal as I have all of my software
stored in the original boxs etc

Just means an opportunity to start with a clean hard drive

Except I forgot my Adobe CS3 License code
but that software is on my desktop
but the lic code is hidden !

Then I found this free and Safe to use tool........

Download Belarc Advisor (free), and it will give you a list of all installed software & serial/license numbers. http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

A very friendly and Professional web service provider

While I use something else (www.webmasters.com)

I just today heard about this company that seems to really have it all together
from customer service to great support.

They seem very suitable for those that do not have a website yet and want to get something going without learning html etc.

In six days the new semester at BPCC starts....

In six days the new semester at BPCC (Bossier Parish Community College) starts

I am teaching the following two courses and one one day seminar.....

TLCM-260 -51
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Wednesday evening 6:30 – 9:30 PM

TLCM-267 -51
PORTRAIT PHOTO 10304
Tuesday evenings 06:30-09:30PM

February 9 (Saturday)
Adobe LightRoom
This is one full day of nothing but LightRoom
I understand registration for this is less than $70
The handouts alone I will be giving should be worth more than $70
you will get at least six full hours of instruction, CD's with presets and how to movies

The two regular semester course (Portrait and Wedding Photo) do require prerequisite
photography 101, but may be waived if you have a good understanding of the basics
such as what two items control light to the film plane of a camera
and what is Depth of Field

Further information may be found at www.bpcc.edu
Or telephone (318) 678-6000

Ask for admission/Registration

For the One day course ask for Community Workforce as this one is a non accredited class
the first two courses you may enroll for either credited or non credit

If you are already signed up, consider asking a buddy to join you
neither my Wedding or Portrait class are full yet, and one may not make because there are only a few signed up so far (Wedding Photography)

When I find a product that works for me I love to shout about it....

I love this little Flip Album tool "FlashPalette Album"

Because it is so darn easy to use
and because it preloads images and then while a viewer is clicking on the pages it loads more images in the background
no waiting for the file streaming to catch up like I have seen on other on line albums

and of course it comes from a company I trust and know that tech support (if needed) will be there

I have no intrests in the company by the way other than I am already using two of their Pallete's for our website

IOW This is an unbiased view of a Product I like
and plan on purchasing the license very very soon

Click here to see my very first Flip Album made with the trial version of yhis tool from www.FlashPalette.com

cheers !
